This Vancouver home needed a full tear-off — the original roof had reached the end of its service life with worn, curling shingles and soft spots on the deck. Our crew stripped the roof down to the sheathing, replaced damaged decking, and rebuilt every layer to manufacturer spec before laying new architectural shingles.
The roof's multiple hips and valleys made this a detail-heavy install: every cut line had to be tight, every valley properly woven, and every penetration re-flashed rather than just caulked over. We used synthetic underlayment across the full field with ice-and-water shield at the eaves, valleys, and around the skylight curbs — standard practice on every coastal BC install given how much rain this roof will see.
The finished result is a clean, uniform grey architectural shingle roof that ties the whole home together, backed by both the manufacturer's material warranty and our own written workmanship warranty.
